Do it yourself gifts for the new year
Unusual, memorable and especially VALUABLE - after all, these gifts were made OWN HANDS.
You will need: decorative pillowcase, colored beads, white or transparent sequins (you can buy sequins already assembled on a thread)
On the pillow with thin white shallow outline the contours of snowflakes.
We cut the threads from the sequins to the size of the drawn lines and fix them with textile glue or threads so that they do not crumble at the edges. Sew or glue snowflakes rays with textile glue along the intended contour. The ends are decorated with beads, sewing them to the pillowcase.
You will need: 1 liter of vodka, slices of fresh pineapple (1.5 cups), 4 vanilla pods or 3 halves of jalapenos peeled from grains, glass containers with a tight closing lid (cork).
Pour vodka into containers and add any filling to your taste.
Put the containers in the refrigerator for 3-7 days, the contents should be well infused.
Filter the tincture by removing flavoring fillers. The finished drink can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two months.
You will need: sheets of foil for gilding, glue for gilding (or glue on an acrylic base), a brush for applying glue, a wide fan brush (for brushing the foil), scissors and glassware (candlesticks, vases, glasses, glasses)
We select a glass container and in places (randomly or along the rim) we apply glue to the surface. Let it dry according to the instructions (about 30 minutes). We put the foil on the glass and lightly distribute it with a soft brush. We are waiting for her to grab, and fan all the excess with a fan brush.
Dancing little men
You will need: pieces of fabric, floss thread, small buttons, ropes and thin cardboard for the foundation of men
From the cardboard we cut a blank (head and body). We cut dresses for girls and boys and wrap them with blanks. We decorate with everything at hand: braid, beads, fur, feathers, gluing them with textile glue or sewing with thread. Sew handles and legs from the ropes. We also sew a loop to hang the figures on the Christmas tree.
You will need: paraffin for candles or ready-made candles, thick tow (wick), wooden stick, dyes for wax or paraffin, cups, bowls, teapots, milk jugs, sugar bowls
We take paraffin or rub a candle on a coarse grater and pour chips into a glass jar. Pour water into a saucepan, bring to a boil and put a jar of paraffin in a water bath on a small fire. We are waiting for the paraffin to become liquid. If the candle needs to be tinted, add dye to the hot paraffin and stir with a wooden stick. We take a skewer or a simple fork, wrap the end of the wick on it, and tie a weight (coin or bead) to the other end so that the wick drops directly to the bottom and keeps straight. Gently pour the melted mass and let it harden. The tip of the wick is cut off.
