We fight with mold
Heat and high humidity are ideal conditions for the spread of mold. Let's try to get rid of this malicious enemy.
Heat and high humidity are ideal conditions for the spread of mold. Let's try to get rid of this malicious enemy using the available means.
The main problems are:
1. Linen, a towel and clothes with a smell of dampness and dark spots.
2. Mold on the walls and curtain in the bathroom.
3. Furniture stored in a damp room.
How to fight
As soon as mold spores fall into a warm, humid environment where there is not enough light, they immediately begin to multiply at high speed, leaving dark spots that we call mold. Most often, such stains appear on towels, outdoor furniture and clothes stored in the country. To remove such stains, take things out and leave them in the sun until they are completely dry. Then, using a brush with stiff bristles, clean off mold spores (do this outdoors - otherwise spores can get to other surfaces in the house). Soak items that can be washed in a universal bleach for half an hour, then rinse and wash as usual. Treat fabrics that cannot be washed by dampening the stains with bleach. Wait a few minutes, then wipe with a damp cloth and dry well.
2. Get rid of mold in the bathroom.
If the walls of the bathroom are covered with mold mesh, you need to contact a special service, because you can not cope with such a problem yourself. But small mold spots on the walls can be removed in the following way: dissolve a glass of chlorine bleach in 3-4 liters of warm water. Put on rubber gloves, dip a brush into the solution and wipe the stains. Wait a few minutes without removing the solution, and then rinse it off with a damp cloth. It is easier to deal with a waterproof curtain for a bath: wash it delicately in hot water with chlorine bleach. Then dry at a minimum temperature for a couple of minutes so that water does not drip from the curtain, and hang it in its original place.
3. We update furniture.
Wooden furniture that is stored in a humid place is often moldy and smells of damp. Vacuum it using a soft brush head to remove mold spores (be sure to change the dust bag after that). Add a little universal detergent to warm water. Having dipped a rag in water and squeezed it well, quickly wipe it (being careful not to wet the wood very much). Then wipe the surface with a clean, slightly damp cloth, dry and polish. To prevent the smell of damp in the cabinets, pour a little soda on the bottom of the drawers and vacuum up after a few hours.
To make it easier next time:
• Leave the bathroom door open after taking a bath or shower.
• Try using the Henkel Stop Humidity Moisture Absorption System with absorbent tablets that removes excess moisture and helps fight mold and mildew. One tablet is enough for 2 months.
What you will need:
• Sunny weather
• Rigid brush, bucket, rubber gloves and a rag
• Vacuum cleaner with soft brush
• Furniture polish
• Baking soda
